This is the video from the presentation of the first dance lab of Runabout project. The dancers who took part had the chance to gain first-hand experience of some of the Runabout project’s technology. They could try out how their own movements and body influenced the video and sound environment. The laboratory was be led by the artist Albena Baeva.
The Laboratory was part of Derida Dance Center’s project Interactive Room.

Azamen is a series of interactive dance performances that use a special pair of wireless sensor costumes that connect the movements of the two dancers with a computer. The bodies are thus turned into musical instruments that are capable of capturing sounds and words, playing them over and over again, modulating and transforming them until they create the perfect audio environment for their dance.
