Simeon Ianchev is the fonder of robotev.com. He is interested in DIY electronics, interactive objects and environments. Currently, he teaches courses in Arduino/Electronics at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia and also at Robotev.com.

Andronia Popova is a Bulgarian musician. She is known as the front woman of Nasekomix. She and her music appear in the award winning movie of Kamen Kalev “Eastern Plays”. With Nasekomix she performed on the world premiere of the movie on Cannes Film Festival as well on Sarajevo Film Festival and on the premiere in Paris.
Andronia Popova participated in numerous music festivals and concerts: Festival of Electronic Music (Sofia, Bulgaria, 2001 and 2002), Colour of Music (Padua, Italy, 2001), concerts in Berlin (Germany, 2002), Lille (France, 2003) and in Cadiz (Spain, 2004). She composed and performed the music for several theatre plays such as “Jonathan Livingston – The Seagull” and “White Nights” and for several movies – “Angel” by Portokalite (2004), “Mila From Mars” by Zornica Sofia (2004) and original music for the documentary movie “Death and the Whole Way Back” by Zornica Sofia (2005).
Andronia arranged and recorded the string parts and the vocals for Donna Dee, Greg-Wizard, DJ Deekline and Ils.
A performance by Runabout project

This is an audio-visual improvisation, a performnance that uses sound to control video projection in real time, using PureData. An acoustic guitar is used to mix and apply effects on the video thus connecting the two media in a more sensual way. Two visual artists make improvisational drawings on the screen and materialize the sound and the projection. The picture stays after the performance is finished.

The performance Empty Set is based on the mathematical definition of the empty set. We develop an interactive control between the different sets on the stage. The musical instrument is transformed into control of the real-time video mix. Separate visual and auditory elements are connected on the principle of confrontation of empty and full, pause and note, set and empty set. We oppose zero to one, variety to nothing, the definite to the indefinite, a musical pause to a constant vibration, a computer-generated image to the details of the human body.In this way we search for the meaning of the empty set within the set. Fear as the only saving power of the self, mind travelling as the only possible way to escape collapse.This was the beginning of the Runabout project. For these series of performances, we built an electric contrabass guitar made of glass. The visual part was a real-time video mix of animation, film and improvisation of live digital drawing.

Svilen participates az a bass guitar player in different art and musical projects: Slav de Hren – “Pictures at an exhibition”, by M. Musorgski – psychedelic art-punk-jazz; Resistant – trash metal, acoustic jazz projects; Alter Igo; Zavod Lenin. In 2009 took part in Runabout Project in the two performances “Fear, electric extension of imagination” at Studio Dauhaus, Sofia Underground Fest and “Runabout in fear” at “Small season”, theatre Sfumato, Sofia. Same year he performed in the “Empty set” performance at the DA-Fest at NAA in Sofia.

Sergey creates and performs experimental ethno and world music in several languages.He makes wide use of different string instruments, percussions, electronics, his vocals, combined with sampled vocals, different phenomena and objects from the nature.Recently he produces music for theatre and takes part in live theatre and music performances as well as playing in the streets and at friends’ homes in Bulgaria and around the world. Composes the theme for Empty set, an audi-visual performance at the DA-Fest at NAA in Sofia.

Or the Halldorophone as it was named by its inventor Halldor Ulfarsson. The banjo was made in Berlin during a workshop for building Halldorophones. These electro-acoustic string instruments which send the sound from their pickups back into their bodies. When the sound has traveled full-circle, it vibrates the strings again and creates an infinite sustain that the player can affect in different ways. For achieving ths an amplifier, a loudspeaker and a guitar pickup are beinig used. During the workshop in Berlin only the acoustic body was constructed from a tambourine and a cake tip. The electronic was made back in Sofia with the help of Svilen Ivanov. Albena is otherwise responsible for the design and the constructuion.
Теория на струните е модел от теоретичната физика. В основата на стандартния модел от физиката са елементарните частици. Според Теория на струните обаче, основните градивни частици на материалния свят са струни със свръхмикроскопични размери, които трептят със специфични резонансни честоти. Така всяка частица трябва да се възприема като трептящ обект вместо като точка.
Траш-банджото цели да визуализира Теория на струните, като пресъздава продължителното трептене на елементарните частици.
The original idea belongs to Svilen Ivanov, he needed something to hang his strings on and he liked the glass door of a cupboard. The design was inspired by a lonely useless piece of glass in Delyan Manev’s workshop for windows. The body was made there, then the strings from an original contrabass and two guitar pickups with the other electronic were added and quietly it began to produce sounds. The wooden neck and legs were made by Andrei Ivanov. By means of a powerfull guitar processor the real sound of the instrument was to be heard. In the performance Empty Set we used this processor, conncted to a midi foot controler and a computer with a patch written in pure data. This set made it possible for Svilen to apply simultaneously effects on the audio signal and the video projection.
